He has several national and regional writing, producing and directing credits achieved during his 30+ years of experience in television broadcasting, national cable television, advertising and on the Internet. Before joining the CBN News team, Steve worked as a writer-producer for national cable television networks in program production and on-air promotion. He has written and produced thousands of television and radio commercials for clients. He worked in the news and creative services departments of several television stations in Tulsa, Okla. While at KOTV, the CBS affiliate, he produced the traveling promotional weather show, "The Wild Wild Weather Show" which still performs in communities throughout northeastern Oklahoma. He also served as the news department's first full-time Web producer and frequently appeared on-air from the newsroom, reporting about the latest advances in Internet technology and new features on the KOTV website. Steve has also worked as a Creative Services and News web producer for KREM-TV in Spokane, Wash. In addition to writing online news content, he wrote and produced commercials and programs for station projects. His program for The Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Inland Northwest won a SPARC award from the Spokane Public Relations Council for finally putting a face on local children who needed mentoring in their lives. An avid Civil War historian, Warren wrote and produced the award-winning Civil War 90 minute documentary "Last Raid at Cabin Creek." His research for the documentary and his book ?Brilliant Victory: The Second Civil War Battle of Cabin Creek, Indian Territory? took him to archives in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Arkansas and Missouri. He located and brought to light new eyewitness information about the second battle of Cabin Creek, which had not been seen in more than 90 years. The documentary is now a part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. Both "Brilliant Victory" and "Last Raid at Cabin Creek" were honored by the United Daughters of the Confederacy in June 2010 when the organization presented Steve the Jefferson Davis Historical Gold Medal for Confederate History.
