About Me

Hi, Im a new user. I have always been on the lookout for Treasure and never considered a Metal Detector in what might be burried under ground. My past philosiphy was to take a picture and share it. After doing some research on using a metal detector I found I needed some help. There are rules, and after a little research I understand why there are rules. I also was confused about detedtors, and again after a little research, I need time and pratice. On the rare chance I actually find a meteorite, or piece of history thats needs to be in a museum or university, I would hope I came to the right place for help. I did take the effort to get advice and a working phone number to a Archeologist. Now two things left to say for now. Looking as Detecting as physical therapy. Bad case of arthritus in my back. Top it off with gout and you Im always reminded Im still aive. I live in the Las Cruces area. I plan on exploring ghost towns, old mines sites(trailings), of course local schools and parks, and Meteorites.  My education level is High School, but would consider higher education in this field should I be successful. For now I have an open schedual, but limited resources. In the future I would welcome to volunteer for research in any capacity Im able. Thanks for having me, now to read the by laws. Anyone in or near Las Cruces please feel free to contact me for a place to go, or if you like company while you search. Thanks.

Im tired. Worked some old ruins, and explored an inhabited ghost town. Found some 22 shell casings, a rock that registers as silver, and a Devils Horn intact - good luck charm.

Great pics Pete, loved your military drivers license. Im guessing you were the second truck if you encountered a roadside bomb. The radios are awsome projects too.

Hello John,

Great to have you now fully on board with us. Well believe me, you have chosen a very addictive hobby that will help you with your ailments. I started detecting also because of a heart problem I had. My heart rate went as high as 239 bpm instead of between 60 - 90 bpm for a normal person. I was told not to exercise as it would do more harm. What I found though, was that I was getting so weak, that I had to make a decision, so I started detecting. What I did not realize was that detecting was a very good exercise with all the walking, squats etc..... The good news is that after 5 op's I am now fixed up and without a problem,,,, But I have carried on the detecting as I love it so much.
If you need any information or help in any way, although I am in South Africa, please leave me a message and I will see what I can do. Please feel free to add anything, or ask anything in the Forum, we do have a couple of very professional people with much knowledge. Also look at the Documents page from the main menu bar and the video's... there are some great items there that may help you.
